Bolt in Roll Cage

Anyone installed one of the bolt in full cages?

On my '74 the rear bulkhead portion is easy as the rockers have the seat belt access panel, but at the front I'm going to have to cut an access hole in the rocker to put the nut brace on the rear. Question is do I do it in such a way to install a removable panel to have future access (will this affect integrity of the rocker?) or do I weld the nuts to the inside of the rocker and then weld up the access hole I cut?
