Reply to "Bolt in Roll Cage"

Gary,

Thanks for the insight, the later cars have the AC hoses routed through the center console, that said my wiring loom and +ve battery cable run through the passenger rocker, so it could still be a challenge cutting/welding.

The cage I have is a Byers sectional (I think) and as supplied encroaches a lot into the cabin space. Once in it is joined/bolted together with slip tubes at the upper rear. I stretched it out so the front uprights and front crossmember moved forward and closer to the dash and headliner in the cabin. I gained an extra 2 inches of headroom and all I had to do was fabricate longer slip tubes, not sure why it didn't come like that really.

Whichever way I have to cut the rocker panel to insert the pretapped blocks that go behind the rocker. Shame I just cannot reach forward from the rear seat belt access panel inside the rocker, but my arms are not that thin.

Julian
