Hello Anders, you need a press of course, to press down the rod to remove the first circlip.

then about 15mm below the cir clip is another one
again use the press to lower the rod, and remove the second circlip, but cover the top with a cloth for there is of course air pressure within. (the air and oil are thrown everywhere)

you will then see the large rubber seal is at the top of the tube, and is extremely difficult to pull out.

I removed the seal by drilling a 6mm hole in the bottom of the tube, and knocking it out with a long round 4mm rod.

I did this knowing I would not be renovating the old struts but inserting a New style strut inside the old one.

I hope to have this done by the end of next week.
