It is not a Mustang steering wheel or column. The steering wheel and column were originally sourced from the European Mercury Capri.
Aftermarket replacement steering wheels will usually use a seperate hub. There are two that will fit. '72 Mercury Capri. '72 Detomaso Pantera.

There is a slight difference between the two. I used the hub from the Capri application and had no issues.

Panteras by Wilkinson makes a quick release hub made to use for the Pantera specifically. It is machined out of 304 "cosmetic" stainless steel billet. It's about $600 for it.

He also caries the correct adapter hub for the Momo steering wheel, which is what I used and there are about 100 different Momo wheels that will fit.

I used the Momo "Competition" after trying a couple of different ones and sizes.
