Yeah, the ammeter bounces, doesn't hurt a thing. The gages in the Pantera are "un-dampened" which means the needles respond immediately to every small change in the measuring circuit. Everyone is accustomed to heavily dampened gages that operate very slowly.

Supposedly changing to a solid state voltage reg will fix that, as people who have installed new alternators with internal voltage regs seem to verify.

What fun would it be to own a car like the Pantera without any quirks? Might as well drive a Toyota.
