Reply to "Brake Issue"

Hi Khan,

Congrats on your Pantera purchase!

Husker has the right support points. On the rear cross member, I use a steel plate that spans the length of the cross member (channel or square tubing works). If you want to lift both the front and rear wheels on one side of the car (at the same time), place the jack near the rear of the door (on the sub frame). This will raise both front and rear wheels at the same time. There is a pinch weld that will require the use of two metal plates (one on each side of the flange). The plates keep the jack from bending the pinch weld and collapsing the sub frame.

As for the hydraulics, don't take any chances. Rebuild everything. Do the brake master, clutch master, clutch slave cyl, and brake calipers. Flush the hydraulic lines. Add the stainless flex lines. Closely inspect all of the hydraulic tubing, especially under the car where they run down the center. Look for any signs of chafing or pitting especially where they are held by those fold over straps.
