Brake pedal heads to the floor when warm

I searched the forums for the answer to my problem but couldn't find it. The car has had the "bronco II" (if I remember correctly) master cylinder replacment that they were doing in the 1990s and for it's age, has seen very little use. Lately, after driving for awhile, the brake pedal gets soft and heads towards the floorboards when held. Oddly enough, when the vehicle is first started and for some time after, the pedal is fine. What's going on?
