Reply to "Brake Proportioning valve"

Today I tried the above modification to the proportioning valve. Now the rubber cap on the end gets blown off because it is leaking fluid around the smaller seal at that end. Any suggestions what went wrong? Did I use a washer that was not the right thickness behind the large end cap? I hate to start messing with the original lines.
