Cal legislator out to require smog for Panteras

Legislation has been introduced again in the California State Assembly to repeal the state's current rolling emissions test exemption for vehicles 30 years old or older. A.B. 2683 repeals the current exemption and replaces it with a provision requiring the permanent testing of all pre-'76 vehicles. The person behind this new bill is Assemblywoman Sally Lieber (D-District 22). Legislators are desperate to blame anybody or thing for their failure to meet air quality goals and the old car hobby is a convenient scapegoat.
