There will not be any rebuilding in Pacific Palisades for quite a while. Even those who's homes were spared will not be able to return as the infrastructure which includes all of the utilities will all have to be rebuilt throughout the entire community. That will take considerable planning and a lot of time. Contrary to what city officials are saying about streamlining permits, Building and Safety will not be able to issue permits before utility infrastructure is reestablished. And how are you going to build without electricity which can't be turned on. The rebuilding of now more than 15,000 structures will take a decade if it can even be done in that amount of time. I have worked on many homes in the Palisades, it was such a beautiful community. It's just hard to believe when you see the devastation.
