Reply to "California Registration, Help needed"

I did this last summer with my car purchased from Idaho. I had to purchase the replacement VIN tag for the door and have it lazer etched at a trophy shop. Also had to purchase a emissions tag and install it under the decklid. All this so the 20 something girl inspecting my car would pass it. She had no idea what the car was, had never heard of or seen one. The door tag was required for proof that the car met federal safety standards when it was built. The emission tag for proof of emission standards. Without the tags NO PASS. So as long as the car has both tags you should be fine.
