I have had varing results too with other cars. Some VIN verifiers are more picky than others. I had on try to tell me that my Honda Civic's firewall mounted VIN number was welded on. She's crazy. I went to another DMV and it flew. BTW you do in fact need at lease two place of identification. In the pantera's case we have 3. The brake booster area, the door tag and the dash tag. You need at least two.
