I've seen it many times on small block Fords, adopting a 351 Windsor/HO firing order on a 15426378 motor. In theory, it reduces the stress on the crank by negating 2 adjacent cyliners from firing consecutively (7/8). Like my dad once said, you can theorize in one hand, $hit in the other, and see which fills up fastest. Not sure what that has to do with changing the firing order, but it seemed appropriate to this thread. LOL..... take care
