I would definitely switch to one of the new units with bluetooth. Chris had the same exact model that was talked about in the original post (CDE-134HD) in his Camaro before he traded it in and the bluetooth worked great, even when accelerating the pickup of the mic is pretty good (the car was pretty loud too). He took the radio out before trading in the car and we are going to install it into the Pantera.
