Carb spacer question....

In conjunction with a Performer intake (idle to 5500)on the relatively stockish 351C, I'd like to mate a Holley 750. Ordered a 1/2" phenolic 4 hole spacer rather than the open spacer in hopes to promote velocity at cruise/mid rpm.. Yes/No?

Looks like that intake has little to no shared plenumn right to left, I'm leary to introduce a 1/2" open sparer in fear of what was designed into the intake. Comments are welcomed..
