You have had the identical problem for months. I don't believe you have a carb. problem, but rather a fuel supply problem. The high-volume fuel pump is probably putting out 12+ lbs of pressure.
Solutions either ,
1) put in a fuel pressure regulator. or;
2) put a standard fuel pump in.
