Carbon fiber hood doesn't fit

I have a carbon fiber overlaid fiberglass hood with downturned vents that came on my car when I bought it. I don't have the original hood. My issue with the carbon fiber hood is that it actually has too much bow to fit the top curve of each fender, and the front leading edge has a larger curve than the body below. Is this common for fiberglass/carbon fiber hoods? Should I ditch it and find a used hood?
