I gave much thought to this when I was working with mine. I came to the conclusion not to use Carbon Fiber because of fitment issues. If I were to use carbon fiber I would want the carbon fiber to be the finish. I just didn't see how that was possible.
So I chose fiberglass from PIM. It is a very well build hood but as expected it did not fit well. I don't blame the manufacturers for 2 reasons. First compost parts are very hard to get consistent shapes; especially when you look at panel gaps, shrinkage and such. Second there is a lot of variance car to car. This is especially true if you are shooting for quality panel gaps.
SO...fitment is just part of it. It is as said why I chose fiberglass over carbon fiber.
This hood is quite light and very well built. If you already have a carbon fiber hood you could fit it and use it the same way I did this. If you wanted to leave the carbon fiber look maybe you could leave some carbon fiber stripes like racing stripes down the center and finish/paint the rest.
