Bob Oliver also rebuilt a 700 Holley double pumper for our Pantera, after I tried unsuccessfully to make a brand new Holley work, alomg with four other used Holleys of various sizes. Most of what Holley sold back then were CA smog compliant carbs, and were impossible to tune to actually run right. Bob mentioned that he had to make jetting changes and over a dozen drillings and tweeks to a new in-the-box Holley, to work properly on a Cleveland.
A week later we drove 500 miles one way to 'Vegas and got more power while gaining 2 extra miles per gallon on the road including the Track Event. What he does goes far beyond just changing jets and pump squirters. Reportedly, Quick Fuel does much the same to a Holley 650. This is NOT a simple bolt-on!
