Chuck, yes I saw your article and I also removed/installed the carb 100 times, but for a different problem. Dan Jones enlighten me about the original carb and I found it wasn't worth the continued effort. I rebuilt many carbs and this one is the only problem I ever had. I e-mailed Barry Grant Inc. and they were very helpful. Vacuum operated secondaries will open in proportion to the maximum flow of the engine. My sensor/indicator was set to only indicate when the secondary butterflies are fully open. Recent testing revealed that they open about 70-80% which is fine because that's when the vacuum level is about 3". This tells me that the stock 351C is at maximum air flow.
Chuck you might want to check out the Demon Carbs if your still having problems, the difference is night and day. High quality, easy to adjust, install ONCE!
