Thanks, guys. I did replace the alternator earlier this year. I was careful with the wiring and it worked fine all summer, but I know things do happen.

I would suspect a short, except that should've drained the battery. An open circuit (e.g. bad ground) seems more likely, but it bugs me that stuff works at 14V (with the charger connected) but is dead flat on just the battery. I'll poke around with the multimeter to see if I can find any voltage at all at the starter lead.
