Reply to "Chassis reinforcement"

Hi all.
Having just built a 'RollCage-Chassis,Stiffner' and other odds & ends to assit with the bodyshell-flex, ( I will post pics shortly.)Its a kind of adabtation of what Hall has nicely done and advise from the "Mad Swede" GORAN's article on Body Stress & all the interesting research / testing he has done,..fabulous... a must read....

His fine article on Severe Weight Loss, in the very excellent last issue of P.I.'s Mag. for the GT 4 replicas out there, which we are also following,
( imagine 21 kg's, just nixing the dreadful looking and always flapping around shorting out pop up lites..they did this on three of my cars in the past...)

We have fitted round Metal Halagon, HID (?) projector beams, rather than the square ones under the acrilic plexi-lite covers. Super.....tasty & light.
A very informative articale in a back issue of P.I.'s in which GORAN devoted his considerable experience / fine info. re. all this Chassis - Stiffing stuff.
Naturally, as pointed out by various members / and George Pence recently, it all depends what your own requirements are ....what are u expecting from the car...how much time u will spend on the track putting the car thru it paces?? And remember ; there is always a trade - off. Consider ur decision well.
