Cluch Slip

I'm getting a little slip in 3rd gear when I'm getting on it hard. But only 3rd gear. I'll be checking the adjustment tomorrow but I've never had only one gear have trouble. Any thoughts? Is there anyway to check cluch plate thickness with it still in the car?
