Clutch Master Cylinder

Just bought a new clutch master cylinder from one of the vendors as the old one was leaking under the dash. Noticed the push rod on the new one is a lot shorter, guessing the short rod is for ones with reduction. Can I just change out the new rod with the old? All else seems the same. Thanks
