1/4" should be enough for hard parts, but I'd be concerned with the lower suspension cross-shaft clearance to the tire sidewall. Rubber moves around quite a bit under hard cornering so I'd either increase the clearance with a spacer or keep close track of my tire pressures. Kinda need to see the setup to be sure....
