coolant filtering?

Is anyone using or has experience with coolant filtering?
I have been thinking about two different approaches;
1) A bypass off of the heater supply with a filter cartridge or
2) A full flow removable screen in the swirl/pressure tank location.
So would coolant filtering be worth the effort?
