Reply to "Coolant tanks MOD."

This works. In '98 I removed BOTH stock water tanks & the charcoal cannister, fabricated a single swirl tank that sits on the right outer frame extension and connects to the right-side "gill" trim plate. The gill has a door exactly like the left-side gas door, stock on '73-up Panteras. All the bits are mirror-image, though. The overflow tank is a 2-qt plastic unit from Pep Boys, attached where the charcoal can was. I suggest NOT mounting the battery down there; first, the Pantera is already heavily weight-biased to the rear; the 45-lb battery only makes it worse. Second, the cables & battery are totally inaccessible in the event of a loosened connection, battery failure etc. The rt rear wheel, then the inner fender panel must be removed to fix it or attach jumpers. Been there; done that. Not fun. Better is to drop the battery into the ready-made cavity below the front trunk floor- better balence & access is an easy-to-remove little plate.
