cooling hose installation

I purchased a kit from Pantea East complete with the steel elbow upgrade. The hoses on my car were in good condition but were a mixed bag of preformed hose peices and stright hose of varing quality and size. So I need to confirm a few things before I button it up. I installed the elbow on between the driver's side under chassis tube and the intermidiate tube leading to the water pump. I used a short piece of 1&3/8 ID hose to compensate for the mismatch beween the intermidate tube and the water pump hose. It fit perfactly and I think it is much better than over clamping the water pump hose. MY REAL PROBLEM is on the other side, the connection between the passanger side under chassis tube and the intermediate tube to the lower pressure tank connections. On my car the intermediate tube is bolted to the outside of the frame. The lower end is routed over the frame and stops approximately 4 inches above and to the rear of the end of the passanger side under chassis tube and requires a bend of approximately 45 degrees to connect. A stright piece of green strip approximately 6 inches long is provided for this connection, it fits, but it was badly kinked and I didn't like the looks of it. In addition to leaving it as is, I have two alternatives 1) a plumming shop copper tube 45 degree elbow with two short pieces of green strip (simular to the 90 degree elbow on the otherside)fits perfectly; 2)Use a preformed piece of 1&3/8 ID hose obtained from Discount Auto Parts, it has the required 45 degree bend. I'm leaning toward the latter because it reduces the number of hose pipe connections.
Is the sitiution I described normal or is my car unique? Any suggestion for the final solution?
I remembered this as an unplease task, just didn't remember how much of a PITA it real is.
