Reply to "cooling pipes"

Uncle Buck;
Ford introduced two service bulletins to address air purging or air in the coolant system.
TSB #3 (Sept. 1972) introduced a modified upper radiator tube with a hose connection that was to be connected to a replaced welsh plug in the upper right corner of the radiator to assist air purging in the cooling system.
TSB #8 (Aug. 1973) revised the air purging procedure by running a 15 ft. hose 3/16" ID from the upper radiator, under the vehicle, to the water supply tank and to braze a 3/16" tube to the upper part of the supply tank.
The water tube with the hose connection to the radiator was to be capped. To the best of my knowledge, most owners have capped the small 3/16" radiator tube connection.
