Reply to "Corner weight questions"

OK, first, was a driver in the seat when you weighed it?
Second, many Panteras seem to have slightly distorted or at least non-symmetrical front suspensions. So using your adjustable spring-perch shocks, balance out the front weights with or without a driver. If you don't have adjustable spring-perch shocks, you can still do the same balancing by installing aluminum shims to change the spring loading. I did this using early Koni shocks and shims (lots of work) and a few years later, with adjustable spring-perch Konis (MUCH easier).
Finally, when trying to more closely balance the 4 corners, you'll quickly find that changing the load on the left front will substantially change the right rear and also the other two corners to a lesser extent. Get a notebook and keep track of what you do to each corner; human beings simply cannot remember detail well enough and you WILL get lost in the changes otherwise. If you have copies of the POCA Newsletter from May '06 and August '07, the multi-page illustrated articles show what one can expect in balancing a typical Pantera.
