Kirk Evans sells fiberglass bumperettes.

I agree with the reason for the gasket- to hide all the imperfections of the steel bumpers and bodywork imperfections. With some patience, a sander/grinder, and a felt-tipped pen, you can make the bumperettes fit right and get rid of the gasket. I personally hate the gaskets, and I'm not alone on that one.
