Yes, there is vaccum advance/retard (if too hot) , mecanical (centrifugal) advance and initial advance. On the thec book they pretty much good explain how to check for all of those but they don't give the initial value ?!?
Also when you change the value : the rpm change also : when you set more advance , the idle goes up ; when you retard a bit , the idle goes down ; so you always have to check/set your advance and then adjust the idle and re-check the advance to be sure. That's why usually initial advance must be set with vaccum disconnected , normally at around 1000rpm there's no mecanical advance.
Well that's all I know.
My problem is what is the initial advance !!
I know that the best is set and try on the road, but having a value where to start is always better
Mine is actually set at 13 800rpm , vaccum advance disconnected and retard connected but I'm quite sure it's not correct so I'll make other tries next weekend
