Here is a link to pictures of the trip pictures

We made it to Florida with no serious mechanical problems. In New Jersey, at the Full Service Sunoco, the attendant put two deep scratches in my quarterpanel. They are 1" long and 1/8" wide...right down to the metal. You can see pictures at the above link.

We averaged 13.65 MPG. By the time we got to FL, the car was running a little rough. The idle was way too low and it backfired sometimes. After checking it out, we found a fuel leak at the carb. Then we noticed that every single sparkplug had loosened up....They were all so loose you could remove them by hand Eeker

We got the car running right...and then we started pulling it apart. We removed the engine, transaxle, and gas tank.... (pictures at above link)

I'm back home now...All in all it was a great trip. We drove at triple digit speeds for long stretches...The car served us very well.
