Thanks, Garth66, and Pantera Doug for your commet on color. Color is “Rosso Aurora” (sunrise red), is the only color 8MA-882 has ever had. Hard to match, but zones in the interior had this color, and with the help of the color palette in this forum, I was able to mach it.
Of course, original “Glidden Saachi” lacquer is not available, but I got excellent Dupont Lacquer. Yes Lacquer, that as a difficult decision, since base color + clear coat is better, but I wanted to keep originality, so I opted for lacquer. More labor, but original. First I removed all paint, the a promoter of adherence, a solid primer, and then the lacquer.
In the opinion of many, Rosso Aurora, is one of the 2 nicest colors in Mangustas. I read that it was originally intended for the Iso Grifo, but, if the customer wanted, he could have it at DeTomaso.
