I agree with Jack. The tach works with a Ford Duraspark II (I recently installed one in a Mangusta).
When I installed an MSD 6AL in a Pantera I had to buy an MSD tach adapter part no 8920 before it would work. This was costs appox $60. The Pantera and Mangusta use an identical tach except for the finish on the bezel.
