After writing my previous post I pulled the top off Jon Roots dash and bypassed the dimmer switch. This was very easy to do and did increase the brightness quite a bit. I did not have to cut into any wires I simply cut a short piece of thin wire, striped at both ends and then fanned the ends of the wire and inserted then into the female spade connector before pushing it back onto the switch. Be careful not to scratch the top of your steering wheel with the 6mm stud that is welded onto the bottom of the dash top.
