Thanks for the advice on the dash lights, it was the reostat but the dash lights are dim. This is most likely because I had to replace the alternator and voltage regulator to get 14.5 volts to the battery but did not let it run to long. I tested the dash lights W/O the motor running. I have a new MSD dist/coil/tack box and 6A box to replace an old Mallory unilite. I think that the Mallory advance is sticking due to age. After setting the timing OK (no ping on start) I rev it up, then shut it off and try to restart and I get the advance pinging sound. I back it off to get it to start and the same thing happens. Anyway, I don't have a wire diagram of the Mallory so does any one know where I can find wires such as, the orig coil negative wire (color?)? The MSD is simple but Im not sure of the wiring connections after the Mallory is removed. Thanks
