Factory wings are made out of aluminum. The wing portion is simply foam encased with aluminum. The side supports are all aluminum. Very light!

Aftermarket wings are fiberglass and can be heavy I suppose. I'm not sure on the Hall wing..

Be careful you don't get a strut that's too strong requiring a fair amount of pressure to close and possibly damaging your rear deck.
