Innocenti was a failing Italian auto company, and like Maserati, DeTomaso purchased the company for pennies on the dollar and turned it around.

Innocenti is not a model of DeTomaso, Innocenti is a separate make that was owned & controlled by DeTomaso at the time that model was built.
