differnce between GT5-S and 71 thru 74 model

I am looking at the differences between the 2 cars to make a determination on which to buy.
I have not been in a GT5-S, is it as difficult to enter as a pre-L car?

Are there any real noticable differences other than exterior?

I realy need some advice on this one, you help is appreciated!
