Reply to "Dim Headlights"

The headlight motor is a std DC type, so if all else fails (grounds, contact cleaning etc), its fairly easy to replace the motor brushes and tidy up the commutator bars with an X-Acto knife. The drive motor drops out the bottom behind the radiator when three small 10mm bolts are removed. It's the identical motor as is used to raise/lower the windows.
The car as-new had plastic bushings on the ends of the headlight bar, and if any bodywork was ever done, expect the bushings to be gone, which increases friction in the system. The bar was put in before the fenders were spot-welded in place, so it cannot be removed (in one piece, anyway), but with some fiddling, new bushings can be installed anyway. Hope this helps.
