Reply to "Distribution knowledge"

A Rule of Thumb is, there is NO power increase with any super-wow-wow ignition system over a plain-vanilla single-points & coil distributor that's in decent shape, especially on a stock or close-to-stock mid-'70s engine. There is also no discernable increase in reliability with aftermarket electronic distributors. All the big-buck ignition systems do is allow highly modified engines to perform properly, and most of them carry at least one complete back-up system when (not 'if') catastrophic failure occurs. If you must use a modern unit, I suggest a late-model 460 Ford electronic distributor and brain-box from a '77-'87 Ford truck. This will bolt into your 351C with little effort. Get an extra brain-box to carry along for on-road fixes.
