Reply to "distributor install"

Well, if it comes out (which it won't), it'll fall down and get stuck to one of the supermagnets, or the magnetic drain plug, or get stuck on the screen who's mesh is too fine to let anything that size through.

If that pin falls out I'd be highly surprised. It tapped in with what I felt was perfect force, not enough to deform the roll pin, but not so easy that it could ever come loose and fall out. it's just there for extra insurance.

Anyways, it's moot now, it's installed, and along with the other things I could think of doing to prevent another incident similar to the one that just happened, I hope I'm covered for any future damage.

If I can get help filling the coolant and cranking the motor over to register oil pressure at the gauge, all I need to do is install the already-gapped plugs (.o35") and she should be ready o ire up and time.

Then it's on to installing the interior, and the car should be driving by tomorrow night if I can get the help.
