A D0AE head with large ports should be a 1970 "closed chamber" head. Something is amiss, the head should not have open chambers, if it has large 4V ports. So lets start with the basics. Look at the picture below. The head should have a number cast into the 2 corners on the intake manifold side of the head. What number is cast at that location on the cylinder heads you purchased? (where the yellow arrow is pointing)

There is a D0AE head with open chambers, but it has small 2V ports.
