I own a 73 Maserati Bora. The trans is mounted in the same configuration as the pantera. It has a 3.77 final deive ratio and the rear mount is on the back cast iron cover sort of like the -1 although it is in fact a -2 trans. I tried to swap it once with my spare pantera box just to see the difference wiht the 4.22 ratio. I found that the input shaft is not the same. The Bora has a finer multiple tooth spline as oposed to the pantera's 10 spline. So to answer your question the Bora's trans will not fit. At least not exactly. But it can be made to work.
