IMO, if the scoop had gone clear back and out to the line sweeping up the side, and had a cut-out for the side window contour, it would look awesome. Without a side window it makes it look too thick. But if you pot a functional scoop where the gills are and duckt through the inner panel, you could conceal air cleaner in there and feed twin turboes mounted under the exaust manifold.
Remember, function is better than form. Most race cars look the way they do because of function.
