Doors do stress when opened and closed hard with the door handle, the earlier pushbutton design used the button to open the door and grab the rear edge to open, one should continue that procedure despite the square handles.

The door lock mechanism is a little finicky and if not adjusted just right has trouble overcoming the arc resistance. The threaded pushrod has a plastic ball end that can be adjusted from inside the door.
