... on my car, #1267, the cable for the door jam lever is, like Denis and Bosswrench suggests, a simple bulk cable with a looking screw, just like the front hood release. The lever is secured from the backside with nuts though holes in the b-post and thus, it's not possible to remove it without removing the fuel tank.

You may be able to unscrew the cable with the small screw and remove it, but I think it will be very difficult to get a new cable back in place.
