Reply to "Door weatherstrip"

If the car has been in a collision or has a distorted body, the doors won't align, or close, easily. One of my friends at a CA bodyshop spent weeks with weatherstrip on a high-buck Pantera with a surgically-straight body. Weatherstrip comes in many sizes from the wholesalers and he wound up using one size for the window areas and another for the metal parts of the doors. Dunno how it worked in rain but he finally did get the doors to close easily. Me, I replaced my weatherstrip with a single size and use a fairly firm slam. It got worse when I added GT5-S door upholstery which is thicker. But I'd rather have a good seal than an easy close and a leak or a wind-whistle at speed.
