Since silicone fluid doesn't absorb water any moisture in the system will settle out. Normal brake fluid can take a table spoon of water and it will absorb it throughout the fluid. One drop of water in a silicone system and it settles out. If that drop ends up settling in your caliper and you get it hot enough to boil water you lose your brakes.

Early on some hill climbers moved to silicone because of the higher Temps and they soon began having brake failures.

Silicon ok for show cars but I wouldn't put it in a performance car.

Normal fluid recommended flush is every other year; but no one does. Silicon is often recommend flushed every 6m or directly before any spirited event.
